Restore Oakland Inc. is a community-hub that brings Oakland residents, small businesses, and grassroots organizations together to advance community-governed projects that build political power, create shared prosperity, and cultivate collective healing.

We Heal – We hold weekly healing justice circles, centering the needs of formerly incarcerated folks, and we host free training on transformative responses to harm and conflict.

We Support Cooperatives and Entrepreneurs – We support Black and Brown entrepreneurs and small businesses in accessing capital and political empowerment, through the REAL People’s Fund.

We Provide Space – We provide accessible spaces for community members to gather, activate, agitate, and build the world we need.

We Organize – We work on power-building campaigns that advance healing justice and restorative economics, peruse our website to get involved!

Our work culture is rooted in the core values of reciprocity, courage, and belonging. Our team members weave these threads together in practice, by centering the process of being in relationship with each other, committing to principles of mutual accountability, and prioritizing each others’ health and well-being. We seek team members who are rooted in their communities, who are committed to personal and collective healing, and who value building relationships with one another as we struggle toward liberation.

We support the leadership of people from marginalized communities and those who have been directly impacted by rising socioeconomic inequality in Oakland, and particularly in the Fruitvale. We especially encourage people of color, LGBQ people, transgender and gender non-conforming people, individuals with past involvement in the criminal legal system, and people with disabilities to apply.
